Hi, I’m Shaimaa!!

Walking into my first college class, I was prepared to just receive information, memorize it and call it a day. I didn’t really think that I would have to invest a huge capacity of my experiences and identity into what I am learning. My FIQWS class not only widened the horizons of my knowledge, but it also helped me in the journey of figuring out who I am. Learning about the African American experience through narratives, essays, and poetry, I was able to connect my life experiences to another community living in the same country as me.

This is a little representation of how my English class impacted my way go thinking and also improved my abilities as a writer and a reader!!
